Level 1 is recommended as the starting point for all new rooms without projection, and to upgrade existing Level 1 rooms that are five years, or older. Most of these rooms have no sound system

 

Level 1: Basic Technology Classroom  Budget Price $20,000.00

Faculty and students can plug in up to two laptops, play videos via Blu Ray DVD/VCR player, and project onto a screen via ceiling mounted projector. The sound is heard via ceiling speaker system. Equipment will be mounted in lectern. The lectern will have space to accommodate a resident desktop PC, and display. Interface will have separate outputs and inputs for ability to plug-in a document camera, or other external devices

Level 3:  Smart Board Technology Classroom: Budget Price $40,000.00

Allows an instructor to plug in a laptop, use desktop computer, play videos from Blu Ray DVD/VCR player, show and save  images from a document camera,  project onto a screen from a ceiling mounted projector, and project onto a Smart Board from a second ceiling mounted projector (Two Projector System).  The Smart Board will allow interactive writing and notations, which can be saved to a PC or laptop, all centrally located in a lectern. The sound is heard via ceiling speaker system. Sources are selected via touch screen interface mounted in the lectern. * A variation of this room uses a single projector, and a Smart Sympodium as an interactive writing tablet. Notations will appear on the projection screen, with the instructor facing the audience.  Interface will have separate outputs and inputs for ability to plug-in  other external devices.
